2018/19 Activities


thaiThai Boxing is taught by Michael Namrit who has been teaching for over 10 years and is trainer to some of the local areas top fighters. The classes combine the use of fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet. This course will give you the knowledge and opportunity to learn a deadly form of stand up fighting and also condition your full body. Our own Josh Harris runs a more cardiovascular Boxing workout, Boxfit which is available as part of the group fitness timetable.

ju jitThe Jiu Jitsu sessions are run by De Souza Dojo, a renowned club in the local area. Headed by Alex de Souza who has years of experience and has won international titles across the world . Jiu Jitsu itself is a ground based martial art that promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defeat a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique.

 

kung fuShaolin Kung Fu is an authentic style of Chinese Martial Arts made popular by recent media. It utilizes kicks, punches, combination movements, flexibility, basic gymnastics, stamina and strength. The class is taught by Steve Beynon who has over twenty years’ experience of instructing.

karateOur Karate class covers technique, pad work, blocking and counter attacking. It will also help to develop awareness, confidence, power, speed and coordination. The class is run by Steve Goodhand who is the founder of ‘Satori martial arts’ and 4th Dan with over 25 years’ experience.

 

Our Self-Defence course uses Krav Maga, a military based fighting system to improve natural responses, as well as your phsyical, tactical, technical and mental attributes to best learn how to defend yourself. This course is presented by Tara Vachell, a popular local instructor with a huge passion for teaching and delivering at corporate events.

 


Our Campus Courses are open to everyone (from 16+), suitable for all fitness levels, you require no previous experience and they are a great way to learn a new skill.
