This Monday SportBU and RELAYS teamed up with Bournemouth YMCA to host a sports day for local schools all in aid of Kick Racism out of football.
Over nine Primary and Secondary schools attended the day which was organised by Bournemouth YMCA and supported by AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust, SportBU and RELAYS ambassadors. Morning activities included specialist workshops on Racism, African drumming and healthy living followed by afternoon outdoor football related activities including speed reaction wall, 3v3 skills arena, AFCB Powerstrike and mixed football tournament.
“Supporting educational community events such as this alongside the YMCA is an important part of our outreach activity. The children really took on the focus of the workshops and loved the array of football activities we provided. Supporting the values of teamwork and discipline around the theme of racism in sports is an important topic to educate children on through engagement in sport”.
