Bournemouth Marathon – 2nd October 2016

The Bournemouth Marathon hosted its 4th its year this weekend, creating Bournemouth Marathon history. There has now been a number of amazing records set:

  1. Oldest Runner age of 101
  2. £5,000,000 raised for charity
  3. 2,000,000 bottles of water consumed
  4. Kg of Medals handed out = 5000 (thats 5 Tonnes!)

All in all the marathon was a massive success, with countless inspiring individual displays of determination and flawless work by the events team. To top that off, after worrying forecasts of rain and cloud cover the day presented nothing but blue Skys, little/no wind and temperatures of 16-17 degree’s… probably more enjoyable for spectators rather than the runners.
