Topics included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The use of large-scale biomedical data such as the UK Biobank for longitudinal studies<\/li>\n<li>The potential significance of wearable data collected within Big Tech<\/li>\n<li>The processing of accelerometer data<\/li>\n<li>The building of machine learning models for classification of physical activity windows<\/li>\n<li>Sleep analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Over the forthcoming year, Dr Matzko, alongside the dynamic ORI team led by Professors <a href=\"https:\/\/staffprofiles.bournemouth.ac.uk\/display\/rmiddleton\">Rob Middleton<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/staffprofiles.bournemouth.ac.uk\/display\/twainwright\">Tom Wainwright<\/a>, in a notable collaboration with Data Science <a href=\"https:\/\/staffprofiles.bournemouth.ac.uk\/display\/mbudka\">Professor Marcin Budka<\/a>, will continue to evaluate the recovery profiles of orthopaedic patients to gain insight into their rehabilitation process, physical nuances and clinical outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ORI\u2019s Postdoctoral Data Science Research Assistant, Dr Richard Matzko, recently spent a week at Jesus College within Oxford University to gain insight and connect with leading researchers in the design, execution and analysis of studies involving wearable devices for clinical purposes.
