More recently Professor Middleton and his colleague <a href=\"https:\/\/staffprofiles.bournemouth.ac.uk\/display\/twainwright\">Tom Wainwright<\/a> have collaborated with colleagues\u00a0from the Faculty of Science &amp; Technology at Bournemouth University to review the current literature on virtual reality based training in orthopaedic surgery.\u00a0The results of this work with <a href=\"https:\/\/staffprofiles.bournemouth.ac.uk\/display\/vdubey\">Venketesh\u00a0Dubey<\/a> and Neil Vaughan, were presented earlier this by year by Neil at the\u00a0Science and Information Conference 2015, an international conference held in London, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>Links to the papers presented can be found below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/stamp\/stamp.jsp?arnumber=7237133\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Can Virtual-Reality Simulators Assess Experience\u00a0and Skill Level of Orthopaedic Surgeons?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>and<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ieeexplore.ieee.org\/stamp\/stamp.jsp?arnumber=7237125\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Does Virtual-Reality Training on Orthopaedic Simulators Improve Performance in the Operating Room?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Further work on the use of virtual reality training simulators in orthopaedic surgery continues within the Orthopaedic Research Institute.
