His educational background includes a Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master&#8217;s degree in Bionanotechnology.<\/p>\n<p>His PhD, titled &#8216;The application of commercial wearable technology and smartphone rehabilitation applications for enhancing individuals&#8217; level of activity after hip replacement surgery&#8217;, integrated a systematic review, a Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) study, and a mixed-methods feasibility study, and focused on wearables, gait analysis and smart rehabilitation interventions using commercial activity trackers.<\/p>\n<p>Shay completed his PhD in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Supervisors &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/staffprofiles.bournemouth.ac.uk\/display\/iswain\">Prof Ian Swain<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/staffprofiles.bournemouth.ac.uk\/display\/jwilliams\">Dr Jonathan Williams<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/staffprofiles.bournemouth.ac.uk\/display\/scollard\">Dr Sarah Collard<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shay is currently a Research Associate specialising in Applied Health Services Research and Diagnostic Technologies at Imperial College London.
