Mr István Batta

Date of Fellowship: January 2018 to January 2019

Current Appointment(s): Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics, Fejér County Szent György Teaching Hospital, Székesfehérvár, Hungary

Biography:

I graduated from the Medical School of the University of Szeged in 2001. During my orthopaedic and trauma training I worked in different hospitals in Hungary and spent a year as a “faisant fonction d’interne” in the Hospital of Cannes, France. I passed my CCT exam in Hungary in 2009 than moved to the UK in 2010 to get more elective orthopaedic experience and worked in Heart of England and Yeovil District Hospital NHS Trusts before my fellowship with Prof. Middleton. After my fellowship I moved back to Hungary and started my consultant post in Székesfehérvár.

Comments on time as Prof Middleton (ORI) Fellow:

I spent a fruitful year as Prof Middleton’s fellow in Bournemouth. This fellowship is perfect for a future hip surgeon. With Prof’s guidance I not only improved my skills in hip surgery, but I was part of an excellent research team at ORI and I got good advice how to set up and run a successful practice.
