Montreal climbs from seventh position securing first spot in QS Rankings

The QS Best Student Cities Rankings of 2017 have been released, which rates cities in six categories:

  • Student Mix
  • Desirability
  • Employer Activity
  • Affordability
  • Rankings
  • Student View

Student view is this year’s new category, which is led by Ottawa in Canada, followed by Prague and then Shanghai. Canada, in fact, has come out quite well in the rankings, with the city of Montreal climbing from seventh position last year to secure first position.  Paris, which held first place last year, got bumped down to second.  However, Melbourne dropped from second to fifth, as Australia continues to drop down in ranks as cities become less affordable for students.

The US also saw ten out of twelve cities drop.

As for the UK, London did well by moving up from fifth to third place.  In fact, all UK cities rose in the ranks
