That&#8217;s what we learned from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/2018\/01\/24\/edward-saatchi-vr-interview\/\">our conversation with him last year<\/a>\u00a0&#8212; now, he&#8217;s ready to commit to that idea. At Sundance today, Saatchi announced that he&#8217;s shifting his company Fable away from virtual reality experiences. (It&#8217;s also dropping the &#8220;Studios&#8221; part of its name.) Instead, they&#8217;re going to focus primarily on artificial intelligence and &#8220;virtual beings,&#8221; or characters you can interact with naturally across any sort of medium.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"js-notMobileReferredByFbTw\">\n<div class=\"o-article_block pb-15 pb-5@m- mt-n35 mt-n25@m mt-n15@s\">\n<div class=\"grid@tl+\">\n<div class=\"full-width@tp- grid@tl+__cell col-8-of-12@tl+\">\n<div class=\"article-text c-gray-1 no-review\">\n<p>Lucy, the lead character from Fable&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Wolves in the Walls<\/em>, is the first virtual being from the studio. She&#8217;s starring in a a new Sundance experience,\u00a0<em>Whispers in the Night<\/em><em>,<\/em>\u00a0where you&#8217;ll be able to chat with her using natural language processing. Based on the trailer above, it&#8217;s almost as if you&#8217;re having a hushed conversation with an inquisitive child.
