Behind the scenes of my “What is Carnival U?” video<\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n

Video is becoming an increasingly important part of teaching and learning practice, as well as in documenting research projects, especially for those who would like to demonstrate impact. Camtasia Studio 8<\/strong><\/a> is a great video editing tool within the Technology Enhanced Learning<\/strong> (<\/a>TEL) Toolkit supported by the Centre for Excellence in Learning<\/strong> <\/a>(CEL) at Bournemouth University which is really easy to use for those like me who are new to video making.<\/p>\n

I’ve recently started using it for editing videos and have found it really user-friendly. As part of my Carnival University<\/strong><\/a> (Carnival U) project which is supported by CEL, I am co-creating a number of audio-visual artificats with students and Camtasia Studio 8<\/strong> <\/a>allows me to make small tweeks to videos that students have made – such as shortening\u00a0 them with the cutting function, adding transitions and also including captions.<\/p>\n

Below is an example of a video that I have recently co-created with students which introduces Carnival U. I added captions to\u00a0 the video to make it accessible for hearing impaired students, shortened its overall length and added transitions for more visual interest.<\/p>\n
