<\/a>en teaching in higher education for over a decade now, and before that I worked as a journalist in the U.S. covering all sorts of things. My research so far has focused on media reporting of suicide<\/a>, and also media representation of midwifery<\/a>. A third strand to my research has always been around education and how I teach in my classroom, especially how I\u2019ve used technology enhanced learning in my classroom.<\/p>\nWhich leads me to what I can do for YOU!<\/p>\n
My guiding principles as your TEL theme leader is to a.) make your life easier and b.) enhance your classroom so that your students are getting the best pedagogical experience they possibly can (while making your life easier!)<\/p>\n
My goal this year is to send you a short weekly video on a technological tool or app that can help you in your classroom. I\u2019m not asking you to adopt every single one of them , but maybe try something different\u2026 (oh and if you do try them all, you\u2019ll win a prize!!)<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t worry, you won\u2019t have to do it alone. I\u2019m going to hold drop in sessions every month on both campuses so if you need some help, or have a burning question, you can just pop along to those sessions and I\u2019ll help you out. I won\u2019t promise to have all the answers, but I will promise to support you in finding a solution!<\/p>\n
Other exciting things I have planned: We\u2019re running some TEL workshops starting end of October into November. These can be taken as CPD, or if you\u2019ve always fancied going back and getting a Master\u2019s Degree (or a second one!), these sessions will account for 20 credits of a PgDip.
