One of the largest learning technology\u00a0conferences, ALT<\/a>\u00a0(Association for Learning Technology) took place this week in Liverpool. \u00a0BU was represented by Professor Debbie Holley and David Biggins amongst some 400 delegates.<\/p>\n

There is an ALT YouTube channel<\/a> which contains some videos from this week’s conference including the three keynotes which are also available from the ALT site:<\/p>\n

  1. Bonnie Stewart – The new norm(al): Confronting what open means for higher education<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Si\u00e2n Bayne – The death of a network: data and anonymity on campus<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Peter Goodyear – Shaping spaces<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    #altc<\/a> is the Twitter hashtag. \u00a0There were thousands of tweets this week and quite a few from @debbieholley1<\/a> and @cel_bu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Incidentally, on the ALT YouTube channel at present are the videos from the open education resources (OER) conference in April 17 which may be of interest?<\/p>\n

    Debbie and I presented twice at the conference. \u00a0The first presentation was on the 16-17 PREP activity, iInnovate<\/a> and the second was on our\u00a0continuing research into TEL Toolkits<\/a>, looking at alternate uses of toolkits with a view to developing an ontology that will help organisations gain the most from these systems. \u00a0Marketa Zezulkova also contributed greatly to the second presentation but she was unable to join us at the conference.<\/p>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

    There was a lot of interest in BU’s TEL Toolkit <\/a>from UK HEIs but also from representatives from Germany and Sweden.<\/p>\n
