The first day is 9-4 on Thurs 14 September and, thereafter each Thursday 9-1 pm with a finale on the Thurs 24 May. The programme comprises 3 units which is completed in one year. Successful completion of the units in addition to a compulsory teaching observation results in a Fellowship of the HEA which is a University Key Performance . Nurses and Midwives can also be registered with\u00a0teacher status.\u00a0\u00a0New academic staff are expected to undertake the PGCert and it may form part of the probation terms. It is free for BU staff, both academic and professional, however, the line manager must formally agree to support their studies, and there is a section on the application form that needs completing.
