How should we organise UK response to such events to reduce the impact on people?<\/p>\n

How do we tell the world about the story \u2013 now and in the future?<\/p>\n

Last year we ran the first Sustainable Development teaching award and received some great examples of what you are doing to inspire our students to learn and think about the world around them and how they can make a difference.<\/p>\n

This year we have simplified the application process and want to show how our teaching is linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals<\/a>, as these provide a road map for countries to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.<\/p>\n

Please send completed forms to sustainability@bournemouth.ac.uk<\/a> by 5.00pm on Friday 28 April 2017, with \u2018CEL ESD Award Application\u2019 in the subject line.<\/p>\n

What will you win?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Successful applicants will be awarded an \u2018Excellence in Sustainable Teaching\u2019 certificate and will be able to send \u00a375 of goods to a local charity.\u00a0 These will be awarded at the CEL annual \u2018Celebrate\u2019 Learning and Teaching Event on Tuesday 13 June 2017.<\/p>\n

Professor Debbie Holley, Deputy Head of CEL said, \u201cWe look forward to welcoming our sustainability award winners at our afternoon \u2018Fizz and Strawberries\u2019 prize-giving on Tuesday 13 June, where they will join us celebrating excellent learning and teaching across BU\u201d.<\/p>\n
