{"id":4692,"date":"2017-02-08T20:11:28","date_gmt":"2017-02-08T20:11:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cel\/?p=4692"},"modified":"2017-02-08T20:11:28","modified_gmt":"2017-02-08T20:11:28","slug":"what-has-been-your-innovation-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/2017\/02\/08\/what-has-been-your-innovation-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"What has been your innovation this year?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since the start of semester 1, CEL has been supporting staff across the university to &#8216;<span style=\"color: #000080\">try something different<\/span>&#8216; to enhance their teaching and professional practice.<\/p>\n<p>One of the initiatives within this campaign is a BU-wide scheme called &#8216;<span style=\"color: #000080\">iInnovate<\/span>&#8216; where academic staff are encouraged to adopt one new innovation in their teaching.\u00a0 With the agreement of all Faculties, staff have been invited to use a tool from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.bournemouth.ac.uk\/about\/centre-excellence-learning\/tel-toolkit\">TEL Toolkit <\/a>or any other innovation for example creativity, assessment and Lego Serious Play.\u00a0 CEL has been supporting the initiative with a number of workshops across the two campuses this semester.<\/p>\n<p>Staff trying something different have been asked to complete a short feedback form (available at <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/iInnovate\">http:\/\/bit.ly\/iInnovate<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>One the latest posts from a member of staff said:<\/p>\n<p><em>It was with great interest that I have participated into the iInnovate workshops so far. I have found them very useful to evaluate new ways of assessing learning, redesigning delivery or use new ways to engage students. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I have used some tools this semester as<\/em><br \/>\n<em>&#8211; Mentimeter, to provide input for further discussion in class and gather feedback<\/em><br \/>\n<em>&#8211; Wiki on myBU to provide a dynamic FAQ session<\/em><br \/>\n<em>&#8211; Padlet, to capture feedback at the end of a lecture<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I am reflecting on how to put other tools at best use, but just wanted to remark how useful has been to attend the iInnovate workshops!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since the start of semester 1, CEL has been supporting staff across the university to &#8216;try something different&#8216; to enhance their teaching and professional practice.
