{"id":4673,"date":"2017-02-07T09:09:27","date_gmt":"2017-02-07T09:09:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cel\/?p=4673"},"modified":"2017-02-07T09:10:06","modified_gmt":"2017-02-07T09:10:06","slug":"cpd-study-findings-presented-in-kathmandu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/2017\/02\/07\/cpd-study-findings-presented-in-kathmandu\/","title":{"rendered":"CPD study findings presented in Kathmandu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #999999\">[From Professor Edwin van Teijlingen]<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"stcpDiv\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk\/research\/2017\/02\/05\/cpd-study-findings-presented-in-kathmandu\/cpd-2017-chandra-kala\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-58592\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-58592 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk\/research\/files\/2017\/02\/CPD-2017-Chandra-Kala-260x300.jpg\" alt=\"CPD 2017 Chandra Kala\" width=\"260\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Today we offered preliminary feedback to key stakeholders in Kathmandu\u00a0as part of our research into CPD (Continuous Professional Development) for nurses in Nepal.\u00a0 Today\u2019s presentation is\u00a0party funded by LJMU (Liverpool John Moores University) and partly funded by BU\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www1.bournemouth.ac.uk\/about\/centre-excellence-learning\">Centre for Excellence in Learning <\/a>(CEL).\u00a0 Late 2016\u00a0CEL funded the qualitative part of our research project.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0this CPD project we work\u00a0\u00a0with\u00a0representatives of the Ministry of Health , the Ministry of Education, the Nepal Nursing Association and the Nursing Council, and providers of Nursing\u00a0Education (both\u00a0Government-run universities and private colleges).<\/p>\n<p>Today key presenter was BU Visiting Faculty Dr.\u00a0Bibha Simkhada (based at LJMU).\u00a0 The\u00a0event was opened by\u00a0Associate Professor Chandra Kala Sharma, who is also the president of the Nepal Nursing Association (lighting the traditional lamp\u00a0in photo right).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk\/research\/2017\/02\/05\/cpd-study-findings-presented-in-kathmandu\/cpd-nursing-council-2017\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-58593\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-58593\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.bournemouth.ac.uk\/research\/files\/2017\/02\/CPD-nursing-council-2017-300x175.jpg\" alt=\"CPD nursing council 2017\" width=\"300\" height=\"175\" \/><\/a>Our BU contributors, Dr. Catherine Angell\u00a0and Prof. Edwin van Teijlingen,\u00a0are both based in the Centre for Midwifery and Maternal &amp; Perinatal Health (CMMPH).\u00a0 We\u00a0are grateful to our collaborators in Nepal, especially Dr. Sujan Marahatta\u00a0at Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences, for organising this event in our absence.\u00a0 The CPD research\u00a0project is truly a\u00a0FUSION project in the field of nursing &amp;
