This preliminary stage takes place in the VIS (VLE Information System) and needs to be carried out by staff with knowledge of which units are being taught and who is teaching them.\u00a0 \u00a0Faculties have been invited to send the names of their nominees by 10 August to <a href=\"mailto:learningtechnology@bournemouth.ac.uk\">learningtechnology@bournemouth.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Countdown to the start of term \u2013 key dates for myBU<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>By Wednesday 10 August<br \/>\n<\/strong>Faculty staff nominated for unit publishing\/staff assignment work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From Wednesday 10 August \u2013 Friday 26 August<br \/>\n<\/strong>Learning technologists train and work with Faculty nominees to assign and publish.<br \/>\n<strong><em>As soon as units are published during this period<\/em><\/strong><em>, academics can populate the units with copied content.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>From Monday 15 August \u2013 Friday 16 September<\/strong>, Academics will be preparing their units, including copying content where appropriate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9 September<\/strong>\u00a0is the deadline to have initial content ready for continuation students, who will see content in their new units 14 days in advance of start of term (i.e. visible from 12 September\u00a0 2016).<\/p>\n<p><strong>16 September<\/strong>\u00a0is the deadline for initial content to be in place for new students in Induction Week (i.e. visible from 19 September 2016) .<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0Available Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The resources below provide\u00a0important background information<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/bournemouth.cloud.panopto.eu\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=615431af-3632-4a6c-a6b5-4be29ab399de\">Overview of changes and improvements in myBU for 2016\/17<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www1.bournemouth.ac.uk\/about\/centre-excellence-learning\/tel-toolkit\/mybu-preparing-new-academic-year\">Further support materials on the TEL Toolkit<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/intranetsp.bournemouth.ac.uk\/documentsrep\/myBU%20Academic%20Year%20Preparation%2016-17%20-%20Timeline.pdf\">Summer timetable [pdf] \u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Before academics can start preparing their units in myBU, the units must first be\u00a0Published\u00a0(created in myBU) and the staff responsible for the delivery of the unit must be\u00a0Assigned\u00a0(attached to the unit).
