{"id":3575,"date":"2016-06-29T13:57:57","date_gmt":"2016-06-29T13:57:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cel\/?p=3575"},"modified":"2016-06-29T13:58:48","modified_gmt":"2016-06-29T13:58:48","slug":"call-for-workshop-presentations-making-the-links-new-directions-for-social-researchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/2016\/06\/29\/call-for-workshop-presentations-making-the-links-new-directions-for-social-researchers\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Workshop Presentations: &#8216;Making the links: New directions for social researchers&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Call for Workshop Presentations, Social Research Association 2016 Annual Conference <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The holiday season is upon us and with just over 5 weeks until the deadline, we\u2019re looking forward to receiving your submissions for the SRA Annual conference:<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;Making the links: New directions for social researchers&#8217; <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Now more than ever, social researchers need to build strong connections outside our industry.\u00a0 Traditional boundaries between research methods have softened as researchers and funders recognise the value of combining approaches.\u00a0 Hard and fast divisions between academics, practitioners and policy researchers are blurring.\u00a0 Researchers are increasingly collaborating with other professionals, in fields such as bio-tech and engineering.\u00a0 And new opportunities arise as technology redraws the limits on data collecting, data sharing and research dissemination.\u00a0 What challenges does this new landscape bring?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Last year\u2019s annual conference attracted over 200 researchers from national and local government, research agencies and institutes, academia, and the independent and voluntary sectors, representing the full range of research methodologies. We are looking for abstracts for 20-minute workshop presentations that will broadly relate to the topic of the conference, with a focus around one or more of these themes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Methodological innovation<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaboration and partnerships<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Communications and impact<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ethical issues<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Evidence-informed policy and practice<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Unexpected outcomes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u2018The way we live now\u2019<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Presentations are for parallel workshop sessions of 20 minutes (followed by a 10 minute Q&amp;A).
