{"id":2623,"date":"2016-01-19T15:26:08","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T15:26:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cel\/?p=2623"},"modified":"2016-01-21T14:12:59","modified_gmt":"2016-01-21T14:12:59","slug":"how-brilliant-are-we","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/2016\/01\/19\/how-brilliant-are-we\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cHow Brilliant Are We?\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An appreciative action research project \u00a0&#8211; Learning from what works.\u00a0\u00a0 An asset based approach to Organisational Change.<\/p>\n<p>Last year a research team within CEL \u00a0undertook a research project, adapting an \u00a0innovative method based on \u00a0Appreciative Action Research to learn from staff who have received a SUBU \u201cYou\u2019re Brilliant Award\u201d, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0what \u00a0it \u00a0is that makes them brilliant.\u00a0\u00a0 This research is now firmly embedded with CEL and we are in the process of disseminating and publishing our findings from last year and looking to expand this project with your help.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0You can find out more from the posters and info-graphic in the CEL room in PH \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/innovation\/appreciative-inquiry\/\">https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/innovation\/appreciative-inquiry\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year funded by the\u00a0 BU U\/G Research Assistant programme (URAP), Lois Farquharson and Susanne Clarke \u00a0are now able to continue the research in partnership with one of our \u00a0BU students from the Faculty of Media &amp; Communication \u2013 Samantha Everett.<\/p>\n<p>To continue with this project we are now looking for a range of staff across faculties and PS &#8211; both academic and professional support staff (including affiliated staff) who have received a You\u2019re Brilliant Award and are willing to take part in this exciting research project.<\/p>\n<p>If you have received a You\u2019re Brilliant award and would like to take part in this research \u2013 please get in touch with <a href=\"mailto:sclarke@bournemouth.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\">Susanne Clarke<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year we also invited research participants \u00a0to events led by the Centre for Excellence in Learning (CEL) and Service Excellence \u00a0\u00a0to tell their story \u2013 what they enjoyed about their role, and the values, beliefs and behaviours that made them \u201cbrilliant\u201d,\u00a0 \u00a0and really so inspiring for staff and a good reason to \u00a0CELebrate.<\/p>\n<p>It would also be great to hear from staff about their experience of using appreciative approaches and support with updating an appreciative resource bank for the CEL microsite &#8211;\u00a0 We are growing quite a library of resources and very happy to share &#8211; Lois Farquharson and Susanne Clarke, will be taking their \u201cAppreciating Appreciative Inquiry\u201d seminar to the Festival of Learning this year and happy for volunteers to support us with this too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An appreciative action research project \u00a0&#8211; Learning from what works.\u00a0\u00a0 An asset based approach to Organisational Change.
