The next session of our ‘Introduction to Education Practice<\/em><\/strong>‘ course will run from the 24<\/strong>th to<\/strong> the 26<\/strong>th of February<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This is a research-driven, practice-based course, aimed at doctoral students who are or will be supporting teaching activities.<\/p>\n

The course<\/strong> has three main aims<\/strong>:
\n\u2022 To introduce students to theoretical and practical knowledge on adult learning, with special emphasis on the UK context.
\n\u2022 To familiarise students with BU\u2019s services and schemes for teaching and learning, as well as with leaning technology tools.
\n\u2022 To provide students with opportunities to discuss and reflect about their particular teaching goals, and to offer a collegial space where they can receive feedback on their teaching practice.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_20151207_100926\"<\/a>Topics<\/strong> covered in the course include:
\n\u2022 The student experience of learning.
\n\u2022 Planning student-centred learning.
\n\u2022 Working in large and small groups.
\n\u2022 Assessment for learning.
\n\u2022 The potential of learning technology.<\/p>\n

On the last day we celebrate our students’ learning by engaging them in a micro-teaching task<\/em>, where they receive feedback and recommendations to improve their teaching practice.<\/p>\n
