We are in the process of developing a resources for BU academics that will provide help, support and guidance in gaining the most from the available TEL tools such as myBU, Xerte and Panopto to mention but a few.\u00a0 The toolkit is being developed and populated this semester and is due for release in semester 2.<\/p>\n

So, why would you want to engage with the toolkit?\u00a0 We think there are 7 strong reasons.<\/p>\n\"ToolkitWhy\"<\/a>\n

  1. To further develop your own skills, competencies and confidence in using TEL tools and your teaching and learning pedagogy.\u00a0 The toolkit will be available either by tool (How do I use Panopto?) and also pedagogically (How can I better engage students?) so that you can learn more about the available tools and also explore news ways to teach.<\/li>\n
  2. To facilitate new learnings and experiences that could be used as the basis for research outputs.<\/li>\n
  3. As the basis for seeking internal or external funding.\u00a0 The recent CEL FIF call is a recent example.<\/li>\n
  4. To receive personal and professional recognition for your expertise using the tools.\u00a0 This may include awards such as the Learning and Teaching Fellowship or be used in appraisals and for pay\/grade progression.<\/li>\n
  5. To enhance your profession capabilities and engagement.<\/li>\n
  6. If you are seeking a HEA fellowship or higher levels of membership, you could use the toolkit to develop or enhance your skills and use these achievements to support your application.<\/li>\n
  7. Happy students is at the top of the ‘Why?’ list.\u00a0 Engaging students through TEL is a great way to offer a varied approach to teaching and learning and make the experience enjoyable for and beneficial to students.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
