{"id":13626,"date":"2022-02-23T10:15:16","date_gmt":"2022-02-23T10:15:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/?p=13626"},"modified":"2022-02-28T16:42:35","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T16:42:35","slug":"fhss-and-hee-inter-faculty-simulation-research-day-supported-by-flie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/2022\/02\/23\/fhss-and-hee-inter-faculty-simulation-research-day-supported-by-flie\/","title":{"rendered":"FHSS\/HEE Inter-faculty Simulation Research Day\u00a0Supported by FLIE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Faculty of Health Sciences and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hee.nhs.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health Education England<\/a> ran an inter-faculty Simulation Research Day in January, an exciting event that was rolled out with the support of FLIE staff and had 4 clear goals:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">To build awareness and showcase Faculty HEE simulation projects<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">To develop external networks with key partners\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">To run a bespoke strand for those interested in the ageing\/dementia\/technology interface (large scale bids)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">To showcase and offer a \u2018hands-on\u2019 tech session<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/secret\/ByWbclWCVWmnrW\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The resources used for this session were made available for staff to view or review<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Simulation Research Day was opened by <span data-contrast=\"none\">Executive Dean Prof Anand Pandyan who set out some future aims and plans for the faculty and the new building. It was an opportunity for FHSS to\u00a0<\/span>showcase some of the projects that are being developed with HEE&#8217;s support:<\/p>\n<h2>Baby Robyn<\/h2>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:2,&quot;335551620&quot;:2,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">This is a project that runs along with our SIM partners at Poole Hospital. <\/span>FLIE have directly been working with Jo Staples, Heidi Singleton, and their team to assist in filming and editing these productions in the initial stages using a Theta 360 camera. There are now plans in place for us to record updated assessments using our new Insta360 pro 2. These recordings can then be used as a tool to assist in the teaching of an ABCDE assessment.<a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/files\/2022\/02\/Picture10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-13636 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/files\/2022\/02\/Picture10-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/files\/2022\/02\/Picture10-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/files\/2022\/02\/Picture10.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"none\"><strong>Martian Attack<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">A paramedic science simulation including an introduction to our next upcoming event (30<sup>th<\/sup> and 31<sup>st<\/sup> of March). Adam Bancroft is taking the lead on this one. FLIE <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">assisted with the capture and video of the paramedic handover and assessment, including making the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bournemouth.cloud.panopto.eu\/Panopto\/Pages\/Viewer.aspx?id=282d37e2-161d-49e1-bbd3-ae4500fb0949\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">martian video available on Brightspace<\/a>.<\/strong> FLIE are also involved in the planning and preparation of a large scale simulation involving Parademic Science, Nursing, Midwifery, OT\/PT and social science students taking place later in the month of March. This will include recording of OSCE assessment editing of video as well as assisting in recording on the 2-day event to capture the main event and immediate aftermath. These recordings will then be used in each of the programmes attended for teaching purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-contrast=\"none\"><strong>Social work walk-through flat<\/strong><\/span><span through some funding we have purchased 40 wipeable headsets for use with these videos to allow students a hands-on approach when carrying out an initial assessment within a home.<\/span><\/p>\n<div
