This change brings in a number of benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved security as Zoom sessions are restricted to only allow members of the University to join<\/li>\n<li>Students will join with their actual names via accounts associated with their BU email address<\/li>\n<li>Attendance logs will be accurate<\/li>\n<li>Breakout rooms can be pre-assigned using student BU email addresses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Waiting Room is configured so that users who are not signed in with BU Zoom accounts (<strong>including external participants<\/strong>) will be put in the Waiting Room to be admitted by the Host.<\/p>\n<h2>What do I need to do?<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_11733\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/files\/2020\/11\/Zoom-meeting-options.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11733\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-11733\" src=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/files\/2020\/11\/Zoom-meeting-options-300x102.jpg\" alt=\"Zoom meeting options\" width=\"300\" height=\"102\" srcset=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/files\/2020\/11\/Zoom-meeting-options-300x102.jpg 300w, https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/flie\/files\/2020\/11\/Zoom-meeting-options.jpg 612w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-11733\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Zoom meeting options<\/p><\/div>\n<p>When scheduling new sessions you just need to click the \u2018Only authenticated users can join\u2019 option.<\/p>\n<h2>How will students know?<\/h2>\n<p>Communications will be sent to students via Brightspace on 9 November to prompt them to <a href=\"https:\/\/brightspace.bournemouth.ac.uk\/d2l\/le\/content\/6606\/viewContent\/1251283\/View\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">activate their BU Zoom account and sign into Zoom<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Frequently asked questions<\/h2>\n<p>As Zoom is still relatively new to the University we are also learning how best to support you on this platform.
