Mandi is the university’s strategic lead for student welfare and discipline and responsible for the delivery of the student facing services at BU. Her extensive experience in Higher Education spans 20 years and she has held a number of posts in Faculty, Academic Services and Student Services.

As an elected trustee of AMOSSHE, she was involved in a number of sector working groups including the UCEA Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee and LFHE Prevent HE group.

Mandi is committed to prevention rather than cure and has introduced a proactive and multi-disciplinary approach to student welfare at BU, working on projects with partners such as the Samaritans, Dorset Mind and the NHS. She has led a HEFCE catalyst funded project on Postgraduate Researchers’ mental wellbeing, an AMOSSHE Insights project looking at student resilience, and co-edited the Advance HE guide for governors on Safeguarding.
