Dr. Barbara Neuhofer<\/h2>\n\"\"<\/a>\n

Dr. Barbara Neuhofer is a\u00a0Lecturer\u00a0in Tourism and Hospitality Management at the Faculty of Management at\u00a0Bournemouth University<\/a>, UK.<\/p>\n

Barbara researches, teaches, writes and speaks about consumer experiences and technologies and how technologies will transform and shape the way contemporary, consumer-driven and dynamic experiences are co-created.<\/p>\n

In her PhD Thesis\u00a0supervised by\u00a0Prof Dimitrios Buhalis<\/a>\u00a0and Prof Adele Ladkin<\/a>, she focused on\u00a0\u201cAn Exploration of the Technology Enhanced Tourist Experience.\u201d\u00a0<\/a>Barbara has written and co-authored a number of\u00a0academic journal articles, book chapters and conference papers on tourist experiences, co-creation and the use of ICTs in services marketing and the\u00a0tourism and hospitality industry.<\/p>\n

For her academic achievements to date, Barbara was awarded the prestigious\u00a0ITT PhD Student of the Year 2013 Award<\/a>\u00a0and was selected as one of the 15 winners (out of 107) of the\u00a0\u00a0International PhD Student Competition 2013<\/a>. Most recently, Barbara was awarded the\u00a02nd Place \u2018Journal Paper of the Year\u2019\u00a0<\/a>Award for her co-authored publication \u2018Neuhofer, B., Buhalis, D. and Ladkin, A. 2014. A typology of technology enhanced tourism experiences, published in the International Journal of Tourism Research, awarded at the\u00a0ENTER2015<\/a>\u00a0conference in Lugano, Switzerland. She won several\u00a0further prizes<\/a>\u00a0for her innovative and cutting-edge PhD research.<\/p>\n

Barbara currently serves\u00a0on the board of\u00a0IFITT \u2013 International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism<\/a>\u00a0as Treasurer and Director of IFITT Next Generation, following her\u00a0re-election for a second term from 2015-2017. Barbara\u00a0has also served as student committee chair of the PhD Workshop at\u00a0ENTER2013 Conference<\/a>, Innsbruck, Austria and overall co-chair of the\u00a0IFITT Doctoral Summer School 2013<\/a>, Bournemouth, UK.<\/p>\n
