{"id":35,"date":"2014-10-14T16:29:14","date_gmt":"2014-10-14T16:29:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/destinationfeelgood\/?p=35"},"modified":"2014-11-13T16:29:49","modified_gmt":"2014-11-13T16:29:49","slug":"blackmore-vale-coverage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/destinationfeelgood\/2014\/10\/14\/blackmore-vale-coverage\/","title":{"rendered":"Blackmore Vale coverage"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Bournemouth University and National Coastal Tourism Academy win national funding for tourism project<\/h3>\n<p>Bournemouth\u00a0University\u00a0and the National Coastal Tourism Academy have won national funding to research health and well-being tourism in Dorset.<\/p>\n<p>The Economic and Social Research Council is\u00a0funding\u00a0the project \u2018Destination FEELGOOD\u2019 which will work with 80 visitor-facing businesses across Dorset to create healthy lifestyle services.<\/p>\n<p>During the project, the\u00a0business networks\u00a0will meet every two to three months for business mentoring, networking and the opportunity to listen to guest speakers.<\/p>\n<p>The NCTA will then recruit ten\u00a0businesses\u00a0to exchange ideas and feedback on the project.<\/p>\n<p>Director of NCTA, Samantha Richardson, said: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have been awarded this funding to focus on how businesses in Bournemouth, Weymouth and Dorchester could promote themselves as healthy living resorts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnjoying regular exercise and eating healthily is increasingly on the public\u2019s agenda. This funding will enable us to work with three towns across Dorset to promote the county\u2019s rich, natural assets not only to encourage visitors to lead positive lifestyles, but to help local businesses tap into new markets and create growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Professor\u00a0Heather Hartwell, of Bournemouth University\u2019s School of Tourism, said: \u201cThis project offers an ideal opportunity for BU students to engage practically with local businesses on a one-to-one basis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInitially we will be looking at three key ideas; marketing and product opportunities, employer wellbeing and relevant legislation, innovation and food.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe project will be tracked to examine the performance of all participating businesses.
