{"id":5236,"date":"2017-02-06T22:09:16","date_gmt":"2017-02-06T22:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/?p=5236"},"modified":"2017-06-01T06:59:04","modified_gmt":"2017-06-01T06:59:04","slug":"taking-forward-recommendations-to-ukipo-on-3d-printing-and-ip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/2017\/02\/06\/taking-forward-recommendations-to-ukipo-on-3d-printing-and-ip\/","title":{"rendered":"Taking forward Recommendations to UKIPO on 3D Printing and IP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 6 February 2017, <a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/2014\/04\/23\/dinusha-mendis\/\">Professor Dinusha Mendis<\/a> participated in a 3D Printing (3DP) \/ Intellectual Property (IP) workshop titled <em>\u2018Rethinking IP in the Digital Manufacturing Age\u2019.<\/em> The workshop introduced a second UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) project into 3DP and Intellectual Property (IP) led by Dr. Angela Daly of Queensland University of Technology, Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the event focused on <a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/2015\/04\/07\/cippm-researchers-publish-reports-for-the-uk-government-detailing-the-ip-implications-of-3d-printing\/\">taking forward the recommendations of the UKIPO Commissioned project into the IP implications of 3DP led by Professor Mendis, completed in 2015.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In this context, Professor Mendis, together with Dr. Phil Reeves of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stratasys.com\/\">Stratasys Ltd<\/a> (Co-Investigator) outlined the findings, conclusions and recommendations made to Government, Industry and Intermediaries as a result of their project.<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by policy makers, academics, practitioners, industry partners and media professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Following the event, Professor Mendis was invited to act as a member for the project&#8217;s Steering Committee.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 6 February 2017, Professor Dinusha Mendis participated in a 3D Printing (3DP) \/ Intellectual Property (IP) workshop titled \u2018Rethinking IP in the Digital Manufacturing Age\u2019.
