5pm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Venue: EB708, Executive Business Centre, Bournemouth University<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/going-for-gold-3d-printing-jewellery-and-the-future-of-intellectual-property-law-implications-for-tickets-32234922521?aff=ehomecard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Registration<\/strong><\/a> for the event is now closed.<\/p>\n<p>Additive Manufacturing or 3D printing as it is more commonly known, continues to push the boundaries of Intellectual Property (IP) law whilst raising questions relating to the protection and exploitation of IP.<\/p>\n<p>There have been various attempts to address these questions through legal and empirical studies; yet at the same time, there continues to be limited literature and debate on the implications of 3D printing surrounding intellectual property law, industry, society, technology and policy.<\/p>\n<p>This challenge, which extends to the lucrative jewellery sector raises further questions in relation to creativity, design, copyright and licensing.<\/p>\n<p>This event, which builds on the <a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/2015\/04\/07\/cippm-researchers-publish-reports-for-the-uk-government-detailing-the-ip-implications-of-3d-printing\/\">UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) Commissioned Study<\/a> on 3D Printing and IP law led by Bournemouth University (BU) during 2013-2014 (reports published in 2015), will explore some of these questions by bringing together experts from the cultural and business sectors including designers, manufacturers, distributors, policy makers and legal professionals.<\/p>\n<p>The event will also provide the platform for a discussion of the &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/2015\/11\/12\/cippm-awarded-rcuk-funding-to-carry-out-further-research-into-the-ip-implications-of-3d-printing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Going for Gold&#8217; project<\/a> supported by the RCUK funded Centre for Copyright and New Business Models in the Creative Economy (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.create.ac.uk\/\">CREATe<\/a>), AHRC Grant Number AH\/K000179\/1 and carried out by researchers at <a href=\"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/\">CIPPM <\/a>(Bournemouth University) in collaboration with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.museotechniki.com\/\">Museotechniki Ltd<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/uformia.com\/\">Uformia AS. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>This multi-disciplinary event will be complemented by an exhibition of 3D printed jewellery artefacts which will be on display at the event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Programme<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>10.00 -11.00: Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>11.00 &#8211;
