{"id":3856,"date":"2015-05-31T11:00:41","date_gmt":"2015-05-31T11:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/?p=3856"},"modified":"2025-01-16T22:23:55","modified_gmt":"2025-01-16T22:23:55","slug":"study-into-design-rights-infringement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsites.bournemouth.ac.uk\/cippm\/2015\/05\/31\/study-into-design-rights-infringement\/","title":{"rendered":"Study into Design Rights Infringement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This 15-month study, which has been commissioned by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipo.gov.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IPO<\/a> in May 2015, will develop, test and apply a methodology for periodically measuring the extent and scale of the infringement of registered and unregistered design rights in the UK. The study comprises a number of inquiry stages which in combination target a representative number of design rights holders across the UK design industries. 3 quantitative inquiries will be followed by a series of qualitative interviews. The study builds on a previous research on \u2018Measuring Infringement of Intellectual Property Rights\u2019 (Collopy et al, 2014), and on the Weatherall and Webster survey into \u2018Patent infringement in Australia\u2019 from 2009.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of this research initiative is to verify the extent of design rights infringement and the impact infringement has on UK firms.
