The workshop was part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/pro.europeana.eu\/web\/europeana-awareness\" target=\"_blank\">Europeana Awareness<\/a> project by the Biblioth\u00e8que nationale de Luxembourg, Kennisland and the Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam, on the legal framework for cross\u2010border licensing of copyright protected works in Europe. On his presentation, Maurizio has discussed a solution for mass digitization of orphan works based on crowd-sourcing certain phases of the process of &#8220;diligent search&#8221; of rightholders.
