On Tuesday 11 June 2013, the\u00a0Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and Management<\/a>\u00a0(CIPPM) showcased its research as part of the Law Department’s Festival of Learning event.<\/p>\n\"cippm-blue-borard\"<\/a>\n

The\u00a0Festival of Learning<\/a>\u00a0hosted by Bournemouth University took place between 3 \u2013 14 June 2013. The\u00a0Law event<\/a>\u00a0which included a CIPPM Stall, took place at Kimmeridge House Talbot Campus. The event was attended by academics, legal practitioners and students.<\/p>\n

Under the theme of\u00a0‘Experience’<\/strong>, CIPPM showed\u00a0videos on copyright law<\/a>\u00a0produced in 2012 in the run up to the implementation of copyright exceptions recommended as part of the\u00a0Hargreaves Review<\/a>. Videos shown on the day also demonstrated\u00a0issues surrounding 3D printing<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0evidence based copyright<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As part of the\u00a0‘Learn’<\/strong>\u00a0theme, CIPPM showcased its\u00a0members’<\/a>\u00a0research publications. These varied from peer reviewed journal articles to commissioned reports and recently published monographs. The collection of high quality research publications was also reflective of the various areas of research that CIPPM members are involved in. It was also an opportunity for CIPPM’s PhD students to exhibit their research.<\/p>\n

Apart from demonstrating CIPPM’s various involvements in the area of IP law, the Festival of Learning was also an occasion to present a platform for future collaboration which was carried out under the\u00a0‘Connect’ <\/strong>theme.<\/p>\n\"cippm-our-network\"<\/a>\n

By representing previous and various partnerships leading to successful research projects, those with an interest in research into IP law were invited to collaborate and join forces with CIPPM.<\/p>\n

Keeping up with the\u00a0cake-cutting tradition<\/a>, the Law event was brought to an end by cutting and eating a very large cake!<\/p>\n
