CopyrightX is a twelve-week networked course running from January to April<\/strong> under the auspices of\u00a0Harvard Law School<\/a>,\u00a0the\u00a0HarvardX<\/a> distance-learning initiative, and the\u00a0Berkman Center for Internet and Society<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0The course explores the current law of copyright; the impact of that law on art, entertainment, and industry;\u00a0and the ongoing debates concerning how the\u00a0law should be reformed. Through a combination of recorded lectures, assigned readings, weekly seminars, live interactive webcasts, and online discussions, participants in the course examine and assess the ways in which the copyright system\u00a0seeks to stimulate and regulate creative expression.<\/p>\n CopyrightX is offered by a limited number of Harvard affiliated centres<\/a>\u00a0based in countries other than the United States, each taught by a team of experts in copyright law. CIPPM is Harvard\u2019s UK satellite for CopyrightX offering weekly afternoon seminars<\/strong>\u00a0which complement Harvard\u2019s recorded lectures<\/a> and reading material.\u00a0All of the materials developed for CopyrightX are licensed under a Creative Commons License, the terms of which are available online. More information can be found on CopyrightX<\/a>\u00a0website.<\/p>\n Admission to the course does not presuppose any prior knowledge of copyright or legal background, but enrollment is limited<\/strong>.
