Short courses for credit

The Centre for Excellence in Learning (CEL) is offering a range of short courses on key drivers for educational enhancement and innovation.

There is a fee for this course, however all BU accredited programmes of study are covered by the Staff Discount scheme.

There are four different accredited units and these are available for 20 credits at Masters Level. If you hold a PGCert from BU, then successful completion of three of these units can be converted to the PGDip of the BU Masters in Education Practice.

Semester one:

Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL): Creativity in Design – starting **SOON **on Wednesday 17 October 

Technology Enhanced Learning is essential nowadays as students expect to see these embedded in their learning materials. The unit investigates TEL tools in the context of learning pedagogies. It offers a critical understanding of how and why TEL can be selected and implemented to enhance education practice

 

Semester two:

Employability/Work-based Learning: Implementing Best Practice – starting on Tuesday 5 February

Our students want to be employable at the end of their education journey in order to move seamlessly into the productive world of work. The unit identifies best practice in relation to work-based learning in the curriculum.

 

Innovations in Assessment and Feedback – starting on Wednesday 20 February

Assessment design promotes student-centred learning. This unit develops your knowledge and skills on the practice of assessment and feedback as well as considering innovative approaches.
