Flipping the Classroom with Panopto

Library and Learning Support and IT are currently leading a pilot of Panopto, a lecture capture and screen capture system. This is likely to replace Echo 360 as BU’s capture system providing a more intuitive method of capturing lectures, seminars and events, recording student presentations and practical assessments, and creating reusable resources at your desk.

Supporting flipped classroom approaches, lecture capture and screen capture make it easier to develop and share multimedia resources which can be used to enhance student learning outside the classroom, meaning that lecture and seminar time can be more flexibly used and incorporating greater interactivity. Students can use these resources to prepare for and revise lectures; recordings can in addition help accommodate the needs of students with an additional learning need and international students.
