- Are there sections of your regular cycle routes that you think would benefit from improved additional cycle infrastructure?
- Are there journeys you would like to make by bike, but avoid because of intimidating traffic ‘hot spots’ or gaps in existing infrastructure?
- Is there anywhere where you have thought ‘a simple change here would make cycling so much easier and safer’?
If so, the BUG would like to hear about it! We have set up a Google Map through which you can drop pins and add other markers to indicate local areas where you think there should be improvements. Whilst we cannot promise that these issues will be improved overnight, the evidence from people who cycle will provide a great resource for making suggestions to Local Authorities and other groups. This can be particularly useful for when calls go out for suggestions for ‘quickwins’ from the local councils; having a ready supply of suggestions will enable us respond to these requests more effectively and quickly.
To contribute your ideas, see the new Local Cycle Infrastructure Ideas page. All you need to take part is a Google account.
Note: Any immediate maintenance issues – such as encroaching vegetation or potholes – can be reported directly to the relevant Local Authority via FixMyStreet
