A PDF summary of the archive of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) is now accessible online on this site under the ‘ipra archive’ tab.
The IPRA archive was acquired by Bournemouth University in early 2011. It contains papers, newsletters, books and photographs from 1953 to the early 2000s. A preliminary cataloguing of the archive has been undertaken by Prof Tom Watson of The Media School. Brief summaries have been made of the Executive Minutes and Agendas, Conferences and Meetings correspondence, and Congresses correspondence. Also other elements of the archive are listed.
Include in the archive’s photographic collection are photos of Edward L. Bernays, Doris Fleischman (1) and post-war pioneers of public relations.

The conference, organised by the Institute for Media and Communication Research in BU’s Media School, is the international opportunity for academic researchers, historians and interested practitioners to meet, hear papers and discuss this rapidly growing area of research.
The fourth International History of Public Relations Conference is being held at Bournemouth University in England on June 24-25, 2013.

Based in the Corporate & Marketing Communications, Journalism & Communication and Media Production Academic Groups of The Media School, the Institute for Media and Communication Research aims to produce creative and rigorous research into public communication and the public sphere in the UK and internationally. Amongst its active groups are the Centre for Media History and the Public Relations Research Group. The annual International History of Public Relations Conference commenced in July 2010.
Registration
The International History of Public Relations will be held from Monday June to Tuesday June 25, 2013 at Bournemouth University in Dorset, England.
