Travel and Accommodation

The Executive Business Centre, where the conference is taking place, is on Holdenhurst Road very close to Bournemouth train station. If you want to stay the night in Bournemouth either before or after the conference the following are near the train statin and conference centre:

There is also The Green House Hotel, which claims to be the “Greenest Hotel in the UK”.
Bournemouth has numerous B&Bs, guesthouses and hotels close to the beach if you wanted to make a weekend of it. There are several hotels overlooking the sea on East Overcliff Drive, which is only a short walk from the conference venue.

Getting to Bournemouth University
Bournemouth University is located on two campuses:
- Talbot Campus
This campus is located two miles from Bournemouth’s centre and is home to the majority of our Academic Schools, the Sports and Recreation Centre and the Student Village.
- Lansdowne Campus [location of conference venue!]
This campus is based near the town centre and is home to our School of Health and Social Care and also serves as a centre for postgraduate study for the Business School.

Arriving by Rail
The nearest station to the University is Bournemouth. The journey by fast train from London takes approximately an 1 hour, 30 minutes. There are also regular trains from the UK’s other major cities.

Getting to the Lansdowne Campus:
Buildings on the Lansdowne Campus are a five-minute walk from the railway station (see Lansdowne Campus map).

Arriving by Road

To reach the Lansdowne Campus from the east or north, leave the A338 at the junction marked Travel Interchange onto St. Paul’s Road then refer to the town centre and campus maps. To reach Lansdowne Campus from the west, follow the directions for the Talbot Campus but past the university on the A3049. Go straight over the next four roundabouts. At the fifth roundabout (the Lansdowne Roundabout), take the second exit along Christchurch Road where you will find the buildings that make up the Lansdowne Campus.

Arriving by Coach
Frequent coach services run to Bournemouth from many large cities. Journey by coach from London takes approximately 2 hours, 30 minutes. The coach station is situated next to the railway station, for directions to either campus see the above section about arriving by rail.

Arriving by Bus
Unilinx Buses serve both the Talbot and Lansdowne Campus. During term-time the buses run approximately every fifteen minutes between the two campuses with more at peak times. See our local buses information for timetabling and fare details.

Arriving by Sea
Poole seaport is approximately 20 minutes from Bournemouth and serves a number of European and Channel Island destinations. There is no direct rail link, however, taxis and buses serve the seaport.

Arriving by Air
London airports
London Heathrow is approximately 1 hour, 45 minutes, by road from Bournemouth. Gatwick is 2 hours, 30 minutes away. Both airports are served by direct coach and rail services to Bournemouth.
Southampton International Airport
Southampton International Airport is approximately 35 minutes away by road and serves as a main station on the rail route between Bournemouth and London. Southampton serves a number of UK, European and Channel Island destinations.
Bournemouth Airport
Bournemouth Airport is approximately 15 minutes away from the town by road and also serves a number of destinations. There is no direct rail link, however, taxis and buses serve the airport.
The Bournemouth Airport Shuttle provides a link between the Lansdowne Campus, the Town Centre, the Travel Interchange and Bournemouth Airport. The bus stop for this service is situated opposite Studland House. The service operates once an hour from 7am to 7pm, seven days a week.

Arriving by Foot
The Lansdowne Campus is within walking distance of Bournemouth railway station and Travel Interchange.
